Summary

The board each State Government establishes by notification under section 22 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. No board is constituted for a Union territory; the National Biodiversity Authority exercises the board's powers and functions there. A State Board advises the State Government, regulates access under section 7, determines benefit sharing under the Authority's regulations, and may restrict activities under section 24. This is a class-level record, not a particular State Board or its members.
